Boehner Hails 'Bipartisan' Cromnibus Vote; Vows Immigration Fight in 2015

by Charlie Spiering 11 Dec 2014, 7:44 PM PDT

House Speaker John Boehner is celebrating a major political victory after his "Cromnibus" bill passed the House by a slim margin with the help of House Democrats.

In a statement, Boehner praised the bill as "responsible" and "bipartisan" legislation that would keep the government open, even though 67 Republicans voted against it. Fifty-seven Democrats voted for the legislation, helping it pass.

In a nod to conservative opposition, Boehner vowed an immigration fight in 2015, when Congress returns with a majority in both houses of Congress.

“[B]y the House’s action, we are setting up a direct challenge to the president’s unilateral actions on immigration next month, when there will be new Republican majorities in both chambers," he Tweeted. "The Senate should act on this bipartisan legislation in short order.”

The legislation now goes to the Senate for consideration.

How do we feel this morning? I feel that the democrats took a licking Nov.4, and the voters took a licking Dec. 11. We have now 219 Congressman composed of both parties, but a majority of the House that has demonstrated severe disdain for Our Constitution!

Kicking the can down the road (Feb. 27th) just gives Obama more time to dig in his heels and continue the work of formulating his plan. This is definitely a situation where we needed to strike while the iron was hot!

We have to accept that here are 218 others in the House that are just as guilty and as bad as John Boehner. Boehner we could beat, a majority is a huge problem. We have never beaten them,, we have only forced them to defer for a few years. Beating this would take a Constitutional amendment,, but now they do not obey that document, so revolt is the option left!!!!!

A while back in history a few patriots whipped the most powerful nation on earth to produce the Constitution and the United States of America. Now we have to again whip the most powerful nation on earth to preserve that document. It is plain as the nose on my face.

Unfortunately it's not that simple. For example, Virginia Foxx is adamently against amnesty, yet she voted for the bill. Many of those in the Congress voted for and against the bill for various reasons, many of which have nothing to do with Obama's illegal immigrant amnesty. All those Democrats didn't vote against the bill because they are against amnesty, nor did all of the Republicans support it because they support amnesty. It would be great if we knew each individuals specific reason for voting for and against the bill. However, I won't hold my breath for the specifics from such a 'transparent' Congress. With that said, we do need to do everything in our power to crucify those Republicans that supported the bill to intentionally give Obama's amnesty a better chance of survival.
