Border agents seize Ecstasy from bus in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. A tour bus was temporarily detained at the Canadian border in Buffalo after agents found 22 pounds of the drug Ecstasy tucked behind the back seats.

Thirteen vacuum-sealed bags containing approximately 35-thousand-300 pink, yellow, blue and orange tablets were taken from the Trailways bus about 11:30 p-m Wednesday after it crossed the Peace Bridge from Fort Erie, Ontario, into Buffalo.

Federal agents interviewed each of the 31 passengers, most of whom were bound for New York City, but made no arrests before allowing the bus to continue on.

Customs and Border Protection spokesman Kevin Corsaro said the bus made regular runs between Canada and the United States. The bus company was not believed to be involved in the smuggling attempt.

In cases like that it is often a cleaning person who hides it and another in the intended city picks it up. They had cases like that with the airlines in Toronto. Someone in Asia, South America or Jamaica with access to the plane's interior would hide the drugs on the plane and the cleaning people would pick it up for the distributor. This happened with the former Eastern Airlines in South Florida as well. Drug runners always restort back to the old methods when they can no longer use another method.
