'Border Bandits' Terrorizing Immigrants

HIDALGO – Authorities are looking for a group they call “Border Bandits,� who they said are terrorizing immigrants near the Rio Grande River.

The bandits are not out to stop immigrants from crossing, police said. They are out to attack them, rob them and sometimes rape them.

“I would say that its almost like they're the perfect victim. I mean, if an illegal is coming into the country the last thing they want is make contact with a law enforcement agency and in order to report a crime you have to make contact,� said Lt. Hernan Perez of Hidalgo’s police department.

Border Patrol agents recently found a Brazilian woman along the river. They said she had been beaten and raped.

A Brazilian man nearby had also been attacked. It was the first in years of that kind of assault, police said, where the victims were targeted because they were illegal immigrants.

“We're kind of on edge because we know the history,� Perez said, “we know what used to occur. This used to be a way of life for people. They'd do this for a living.�

Activities along the border also caught the attention of the Mexican government.

“We're afraid,� said Arturo Salgado of the Mexican Consulate’s office, “there has been some other incidents in the past and we are trying to work in that area to prevent some other incidents.�

Authorities do not know for certain who these bandits are. But they believe they are likely American criminals who stalk the border, looking for easy prey.

Shoot, we were wondering when this type of thing would begin to happen.

You can PREVENT IT BY KEEPING YOUR PEOPLE IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY... and while you're at it, try cleaning out your governmental corruption so the people have a chance!

.......or maybe they are other illegal immigrants who didn't find any of those jobs left that Americans won't do because the twenty million illegals who came before them took them all..........
