One of the larger busts was made Tuesday near Los Ebanos when agents spotted an abandoned vehicle near the Rio Grande. Inside the agents found 1,560 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $1.2 million. The gents also found a bag filled with caltrops, also known as homemade spikes.

Another sizable seizure took place earlier that day in Abram, when a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter spotted a vehicle driving away from the river at a high rate of speed. When the driver spotted the responding Border Patrol agents, he came to a quick halt and abandoned the vehicle leaving behind more than 500 pounds of marijuana and more than 60 pounds of cocaine.
