Jim Wells County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Houston man Saturday when they discovered he had several undocumented immigrants in his taxi.

Deputy Elijah Casas conducted a traffic stop on the taxi on Farm-to-Market 665 and South Reynolds Street and made contact with the taxi driver, later identified as 44-year-old Jesse Fulmer.

When deputy stopped the vehicle one of the three undocumented immigrants took off running on foot. The two undocumented passengers that deputies detained were from Honduras.

Deputies were unable to locate the undocumented immigrant that ran from deputies.

Border Patrol agents were called and picked up the two undocumented immigrants.

Fulmer was transported to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with smuggling of persons.

As of Tuesday he remained in jail with a $10,000 bond.
