Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican man near Pharr on Thursday and want to deport him for the fifth time.
Agents arrested Diego Carrizalez-Segura, 41, a Mexican citizen who lived in Pharr, according to court records.
The federal government deported Carrizalez at least four times since 2001, according to a federal criminal complaint filed against him in April 2014:
On Jan. 27, 2001, through Hidalgo
On Aug. 30, 2002, through Laredo
On Feb. 11, 2012, through Laredo
On Feb. 13, 2017, through New Orleans, Louisiana
"Records checks also revealed that Carrizales-Segura has an extensive criminal history going back to September of 1993," according to the criminal complaint. Officers booked Carrizalez at the Hidalgo County jail at least 18 times on charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of habitation, theft and driving while intoxicated.
He's now charged with illegal re-entry.
Court records don't list an attorney for Carrizalez, who remains in federal custody and couldn't be reached for comment.
