Border Patrol agents foil alleged human smuggling attempt in Zapata

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents at the Zapata station foiled an alleged human smuggling attempt on Highway 83.

According to Border Patrol, on July 10th agents received a tip from DPS about a suspicious vehicle traveling northbound on the highway.

Agents stopped a 2009 Silver Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a United States Citizen and found five undocumented immigrants inside the vehicle.

The individuals were determined to be from El Salvador, Mexico, and Honduras.

All of the individuals were transported to the Zapata Border Patrol Station for processing.

The driver in this case was arrested.
