Border Patrol agents foil murder suspect's escape to Mexico

A man wanted for murder and burglary in Pennsylvania is behind bars after trying to illegally cross the Rio Grande River into Mexico.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 27-year-old David Edick on a levee in Brownsville after a remote camera operator spotted what appeared to be illegal immigrant traffic.

A routine background check revealed Edick wanted in the August 31st shooting death of Ryan Beal at an apartment in Swissvale, Pennsylvania.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Edick was attempting to cross into Mexico.

Edick was allegedly carrying a loaded revolver at the time of his arrest.
Authorities found his vehicle parked at the University of Texas at Brownsville campus.

Edick was turned over to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department.

The 27-yaer-old man remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail where he faces extradition by the Allegheny County Police Department.
