U.S. Border Patrol Agents Apprehend Fugitive Wanted for Homicide

Calexico, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station apprehended an illegal alien last night with an active warrant for homicide.

The incident occurred near downtown Calexico at approximately 9:50 p.m., when Border Patrol agents observed an individual illegally enter the United States from Mexico. Agents identified the individual as 27-year-old Noe De Alva-Rodriguez, a citizen of Mexico. Rodriguez was placed under arrest and transported to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for processing.

During processing agents discovered that Alva-Rodriguez has a warrant for homicide out of Los Angeles, Calif. He was turned over to the Calexico Police Department where he will wait extradition.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
