Border Patrol Arrests El Salvadoran Citizen in Maine

BRIDGEWATER, Maine – While conducting operations near Bridgewater, agents from the Houlton Border Patrol Station apprehended a 20-year-old El Salvadorian man who illegally re-entered the United States after being previously deported on two separate occasions.
On Monday, July 6, agents working near Bridgewater stopped a vehicle suspected of transporting subjects illegally present in the United States. A United States citizen was driving the vehicle along with two El Salvadoran nationals. During the stop, agents determined that one subject had no documentation allowing him to enter or remain in the United States legally.
The men were transported to the Houlton Border Patrol Station for further processing, where agents determined through records checks that one of the subjects had two prior deportations, one in 2009 and another in 2010 out of Harlingen, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona, respectively.
The subject was processed for removal and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Office.
“Border Patrol Agents will continue to apprehend those who are looking to circumvent immigration laws, while ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” said Houlton Station Patrol Agent in Charge Brent Conley.
