TUCSON, Ariz. - Border Patrol agents at the Nogales Station seized more than 3,750 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of more than $3 million at the Interstate 19 checkpoint.

Agents said a canine team alerted them to a hidden compartment in a tractor-trailer where the pot was stashed.

The driver, tractor trailer and marijuana were seized and taken to the Nogales Station for processing.

"Checkpoints are a valuable tool in securing our borders, creating an additional line of defense," Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Richard Barlow said in a news release. "Tucson Sector agents continue to use the resources given to them to protect our Homeland."
