LAS CRUCES — The U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector has created an informational hotline to answer questions about fence and technology initiatives along the border.

The hotline, part of the Secure Border Initiative, will allow people, organizations or community groups to request a public presentation on the border initiative. It will also provide a direct line of contact with Border Patrol officials.

Presentations will focus on the national Border Patrol strategy for the El Paso area, which includes Las Cruces and southern New Mexico. Comments are welcome.

The hotline number is 1 (800) 215-6551 and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday through the month of June.
