$100k seized by Mexican federal police in Juárez airport

Mexican federal police seized more than $100,000 in cash at Abraham González International Airport in Juárez, on Thursday.

According to a press release, federal officers assigned to the airport were checking luggage at random when they asked passengers Santiago Tarango MartÃ*nez and José JoaquÃ*n Sosa to open their baggage.

Officers allegedly found 12 bundles with the money in Tarango's backpack, and 11 bundles on Sosa's suitcase.

Both men were to aboard a flight to México City.

In all, the authorities seized $120,000 in U.S. currency, officials said.

Both men were turned to federal prosecutors.
