In a statement to News 11, agents explain how they are offering the appropriate care of immigrants and how they are proceeding with the placement of those who have entered our sector unlawfully once they have been processed.
"As Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents continue to apprehend high numbers of illegal aliens, the sector has proportionately reallocated agents and other logistical resources to fulfill processing, detention, and humanitarian efforts as they address the continuous flow of family units and unaccompanied children in the Yuma Sector.
To assist in handling the complexities of providing appropriate care and disposition of the subjects in our custody, Yuma Sector is relying heavily on other components and partnering agencies such as the CBP’s Office of Field Operations, National Guard personnel, and contracted service providers.
