Bozell: Univision’s Jorge Ramos ‘Is Not a Reporter,’ He’s a ‘Pro-Amnesty Activist Masquerading as a Journalist’
By Michael W. Chapman | August 27, 2015 | 12:54 PM EDT
(CNSNews.com) – In reference to a heated exchange between presidential contender Donald Trump and Univision’s leading news anchor Jorge Ramos, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said Ramos “is not a reporter” but a “pro-amnesty activist” pretending to be a journalist.
Ken Oliver-Mendez, director of MRC Latino, echoed that assessment, saying Ramos “clearly crossed the line between reporting and editorializing” during an Aug. 25 press conference held by Trump in Dubuque, Iowa.
During that press conference, Trump was answering reporters’ questions in turn and he had asked the next reporter to proceed. At that point, ignoring the order, Ramos stood up and started asking Trump questions, sometimes shouting about Trump’s proposal to deport illegal aliens, build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and end so-called birthright citizenship for illegals.
Trump, several times, told Ramos to sit down, “you haven’t been called,” and said, “go back to Univision.” Ramos did not sit down but kept asking questions, which many observers said were more like statements, advocacy.
After Trump refused to answer, Ramos yelled, “I’m a reporter, an immigrant, a senior citizen. I have the right to ask a question.” Shortly after that, a security guard escorted Ramos out of the press conference.
“Jorge Ramos is a pro-amnesty activist masquerading as a journalist,” said MRC President Brent Bozell. “The stunt he pulled at Donald Trump’s press conference reflects poorly on Univision -- again.”
“Ramos is not a 'reporter' nor does he therefore have the 'right to ask questions,’” said Bozell. “Ramos embarrassed both himself and his profession by becoming the story with his unseemly antics.”
“Those who expect a fair and honest debate on the policy issues impacting the U.S. Latino community should ignore Jorge Ramos,” said Bozell.
In his remarks, MRC Latino Director Ken Oliver-Mendez said, “At that press conference, Jorge Ramos clearly crossed the line between reporting and editorializing.”
“His behavior was more akin to that of the transgender amnesty activist who recently interrupted President Obama at the White House, rather than that of a professional reporter,” said Oliver-Mendez.
“He should know that to the extent he continues to ramp up his advocacy approach to the journalistic profession, he is operating outside the confines of honest journalism and his credibility will deservedly suffer as a result,” said the MRC Latino director.
Not long after Ramos was taken out of the press conference, Trump invited him back in and answered his questions, although it was a testy exchange with back-and-forth interruptions.
During some of that exchange, Trump told Ramos that he should use the term “illegal immigrant” to describe someone who is in the United States illegally. Ramos rejected that notion, saying “no human being is illegal.”
The back-and-forth continued:
Trump: “No, well, when they cross the border from a legal standpoint, they are illegal immigrants, when they don’t have their papers, and I want to make it possible – this is the part you're going to like. I want these people, the good people, I want them to come back and I want them to get documentation so they become legal.”
Ramos: “How are you going to deport them?”
Trump: “You know what it's called? Management. You know, you're not used to good management because you're always talking about government.”
Ramos: “Just imagine –”
Trump: Let me just tell you, wait, wait, wait, wait, government is incompetent. Guys like Bush and some others that I won't name, they’re incompetent people. They don't have it. They don't have it.”
When Ramos asked Trump how he would deport 11 million people, Trump said, “We’re going to do it in a very humane fashion, believe me. I have a bigger heart than you do.”
“The one thing we're going to start with immediately are the gangs and the real bad ones,” said Trump. “And you do agree there are some bad ones? Do you agree with that or do you think everyone is just perfect? No, no, I asked you a question. Do you agree with that? We have tremendous crime.”
Ramos did not answer.
Trump said, “Those people are out. They're going to be out so fast your head will spin.”

People really need to check into the background of Jorge Ramos regarding his student visa and other immigration paperwork since 1983 or hey, how about an interview by an actual reporter?

Ramos is very, very typically Mexican! Self-centered, selfish and not very admirable. (Admirable people respect a nations laws and assists in maintaining order, thus does not demand respect for lawbreakers but demands proper penalties to be exercised upon lawbreakers.)
