PALM BEACH — U.S. Border Patrol officials picked up four Jamaican nationals after they are thought to have come ashore on the north end of Palm Beach on Wednesday.

The local Border Patrol offices were contacted by Palm Beach Police at 7:10 a.m. and alerted that the police had four possible illegal immigrants in custody.

The four men — who were first thought to be Haitian — are suspected to be from Jamaica, said Agent in Charge John Modlin.

They are now in Border Patrol custody, he said. In addition, their immigration status, residency, any criminal records are being checked at the Border Patrol's Riviera Beach offices.

No boat or vessel has been found connected to their arrival, Modlin said.
