Restore Our Future spent $12 million on television advertising in February and had $10.5 million in the bank at the end of February. Overall, the group has raised about $43 million so far to help Mr. Romney win the Republican presidential nomination.

The super PAC received large donations from investors in the private equity industry. Among those who donated $100,000 to the group were Dick Boyce of TPG Capital, Kenneth Griffin of Citadel and Henry Kravis of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.

Longtime Republican donor Jerry Perenchio kicked in $500,000. Other donors included Griff Harsh, a neurosurgeon at Stanford University, who contributed $100,000; homemaker Amy Nelson, who gave $50,000; and Richard Castalso, an executive at a nonprofit organization, who donated $10, according to the report.

The donation from Mr. Perry is important because he is one of the Republican Party’s biggest financial backers. Mr. Perry donated $500,000 to the pro-Romney super PAC last year. But then he switched allegiances to Texas Gov. Rick Perry when he entered the presidential race last summer.

When Mr. Perry (the candidate) dropped out of the presidential race last year, Mr. Perry (the financier) donated $500,000 to the pro-Romney Restore Our Future PAC.

With the $3 million donation in February, Mr. Perry has now donated more than $4 million to the Romney campaign effort.
