CBP Officers Arrest Arizona Man on Outstanding Arrest Warrant

Wanted on Drug Charges

Lukeville, Ariz. — A Glendale, Ariz. man was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of a dangerous drug.

Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Lukeville Port of Entry were conducting inspections of travelers leaving the United States into Mexico when they referred 35-year-old Camilo Alvarez, for inspection of his Mercedes sedan. Alvarez was traveling with another man into Mexico. During secondary inspection, officers ran a routine records check on both men and discovered Alvarez had an active arrest warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service for dangerous drug possession.

Alvarez was arrested and turned over to Pima County Sheriff’s while the passenger was released without further incident.

Individuals arrested may be charged by complaint, the method by which a person is charged with criminal activity, which raises no inference of guilt. An individual is presumed innocent unless and until competent evidence is presented to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
