Their behavior could be a Hollywood script--it's that predictable.
I speak of the "open borders / pro-illegal alien / big-business" crowd when confronted with legislation that will hinder illegal immigration. They will attempt one of two time-worn tactics:

    (1) attempt to detour the bill into the "black hole" of some committee, insisting that further analysis and study is needed. The pretexts for "analysis and study" are so phony that it's clear they've either never read the bill or hope other members of Congress are equally uninformed. Too often, they're right.

    (2) they whine and babble for newly-manufactured "rights" to protect illegal alien lawbreakers who not only have no rights, but whose very presence in the US violates the law. These illegal alien advocates urge the law's protection of the very people who show their contempt for the law.

Federal government inaction has generated "We the People" to openly demand enforcement of immigration laws. We may not be able to force federal officials to do their jobs, but we're preventing state officials from providing illegal alien assistance with our tax dollars.

Amazingly, "our" government doesn't approve of our demands or of the legal processes we follow to implement them. The very elected politicians who should be outraged by federal "aiding and abetting" of illegal aliens to roam free in this country are outraged and vehemently opposed to citizens insistence on enforcement of existing laws.

I'm not frustrated. I'm outright enraged, and every American citizen should be as well.

Only a "few good men" serving in Congress have stepped up to the plate to protect the law-abiding Americans who pay the taxes for a safe and secure America and get ripped off--men like Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner, Tom Tancredo, Dana Rohrabacher, Virgil Goode, Nathan Deal and Duncan Hunter. The vast majority in Congress are "Washington Wimps" who apparently have no objection to the invasion of America by illegal aliens. These wimps shouldn't be in office pretending to represent us, because they clearly don't represent our interest and don't care to. Nor should these "Washington Wimps" underestimate the tenacity of "We the People" or our willingness to do what's necessary to preserve America's sovereignty.

It's very clear that powerful forces want the illegal alien invasion of America to continue, and are willing to pay anyone and any price to achieve it. Serving those interests, this Administration is gearing up to force another illegal alien amnesty against our will. Unlike 1986, no one even bothers to call it a "one-time" amnesty. The George W. Bush Guest Worker Bill is a continuing amnesty--no number limits and no time limits.

The fight over illegal immigration is now within the Republican members of the House of Representatives. Democrats in both Houses sold out American workers long ago, and President Bush against demands that Congress pass legislation to admit more foreign "guest workers." Naturally, the globally-connected business interests are thrilled with his proposal.

Congressman Tom Tancredo vehemently opposes the President and the National Chamber of Commerce, for the same reason as Patrick Buchanan's 1992 railing against mass layoffs by "restructuring" corporate giants. Tom Tancredo wants an immigration moratorium and calls for positioning military troops to support the Border Patrol in preventing further entries by illegal "border-jumpers."

To an American, the title of "CITIZEN" exceeds any other. I take being a citizen very seriously and know that our elected officials are obligated to work for the benefit of CITIZENS. We voted them in and we can vote them out. We must always remember that we are the government and our representative government reports to "We the People." Our hard earned tax dollars pay the salaries of these elected officials, their benefits, and their office staffs.

We've certainly paid long enough. Isn't it time citizens receive a return on their investment?

Elected officials seem to have forgotten "We the People" and who they were elected to represent.

Lots of good commentary comes from Magic City Morning Star.

Have you e-mailed Ms. Herron inviting her to join the ALIPAC discussions? She's been busy with the issue lately, it seems, judging from the index of her articles.
