CA. Anti-Sharia protesters plan to stage rally and march at site of San Bernardino

Anti-Sharia protesters plan to stage rally and march at site of San Bernardino terrorist attack

    Carlos Lozano

The site of the San Bernardino terrorist attack is one of many locations where demonstrators planned to stage rallies Saturday as part of the nationwide “March Against Sharia,” sponsored by the conservative group Act for America, which calls itself “the NRA of national security.”

Protesters planned to march near the county’s Inland Regional Center where a Pakistani American couple fatally shot 14 people in 2015. The incident was cited by President Trump as one reason for his controversial travel restriction policy that temporarily bans refugees and immigrants from six Muslim-majority nations.

The rally and march in opposition to Islamic law was scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., organizers said.

It is one of several demonstrations planned in more than 20 cities, including New York, Chicago, Boston, Dallas and Atlanta.

“This is a march against Sharia law and for human rights,” according to a statement posted on Act for America’s website. “Our nation is built on the freedom of religion — a pillar of our democracy — which we must always respect, protect, and honor. However, many aspects of Sharia law run contrary to basic human rights and are completely incompatible with our laws and our democratic values.”

Act for America member Denise Zamora told CBS2 News, “There are radicals out there. People are saying that we’re against Muslims. No, Muslims are attacking other Muslims, and we’re bringing in these refugees that have the same ideologies.”

But the Southern Poverty Law Center has called Act for America an anti-Muslim hate group. The center noted that the organization’s protests are attracting a host of anti-government and far-right extremists.

This week, the group canceled its Batesville, Ark., rally after the law center revealed that neo-Nazi Billy Roper was the main organizer.

“Any event held by this individual is not sanctioned by Act for America, and is not supported or endorsed by Act for America in any manner,” the group said in a statement. “We regret any confusion that this individual’s actions may cause, and are working with our counsel to demand he cease and desist promotion of his event in a way that will confuse it as being sanction or approved by us.”

In response to Saturday’s rallies, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Los Angeles East Chapter, the largest organized Muslim community in San Bernardino County, is holding an interfaith event later in the day.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Baitul Hameed Mosque and is expected to be attended by over 700 guests. Rep. Norma Torres (D-Pomona) is the scheduled guest speaker.

“We seek to build bridges and educate our community about true Islam, and even invite those who will be attending the anti-Muslim rallies to visit us and understand our message of peace and tolerance,” said Ahsan M. Khan, a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Media Complain ‘March Against Sharia’ Is Anti-Muslim

Reporters, meanwhile, ignore the assault and rape of thousands of European women by Muslim men

by Kathryn Blackhurst | Updated 11 Jun 2017 at 10:19 AM

According to the mainstream media, the “March Against Sharia” that took place in more than 20 U.S. cities Saturday was worth dismissing out of hand because the gatherings were “anti-Muslim,” “Islamophobic” and filled with hatred.

But ACT for America, a national security grassroots organization founded by Brigitte Gabriel, staged the rallies across the country with the purpose of highlighting that “Sharia is incompatible with Western democracy and the freedoms it affords,” according to its website. The Americans who showed up at the rallies warned against the dangers that radicalization and the extreme tenets of Sharia law pose to human rights.

“This is a march against Sharia law and for human rights. Our nation is built on the freedom of religion — a pillar of our democracy — which we must always respect, protect, and honor. However many aspects of Sharia law run contrary to basic human rights and are completely incompatible with our laws and our democratic values,” the website states, noting that such practices as “honor killing” and “Female Genital Mutilation (FMG)” are carried out on women and children under the guise of Sharia law.

(video may be viewed at the source link)

Many of the Americans who showed up to march proudly waved their American flags and sported "Make America Great Again" hats as they held anti-Sharia signs and listened to the various speakers present. Across the country, counter-protesters calling for "tolerance" and crying "Islamophobia" also met the protesters. Police made several arrests across the various cities and used tear gas to disperse a crowd in Seattle.

Despite the scuffles and the presence of some extreme right-wingers, many of the "March Against Sharia" protesters came to call out the human rights abuses carried out in the name Sharia law while showing their support for President Donald Trump's national security, immigration and counterterrorism platforms.

"We are not anti-Muslim. We are anti-radical Islam," one speaker said outside City Hall in Seattle, NBC News reported.

Chris Achey of Pennsylvania told Reuters that he does not hate Muslims as the Left suggests.

"The Constitution is the law of the land," Achey said. "We have to be careful with who we let in the country."

But the Left simply couldn't seem to tolerate ACT for America's mission statement and desire to draw attention to the horrific acts carried out in the name of Sharia law.

"An unholy alliance of Islamophobic hate group members, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and armed anti-government militia members will rally against the nonexistent threat of sharia, or Islamic, law in the U.S this weekend," a Huffington Post article read. "Gabriel and Act for America have worked for years not only to spread fear of Muslims, but to strip Muslims of rights afforded to the followers of other faiths."

Linda Sarsour, a Palestinian activist and Women’s March organizer, wrote on Facebook on May 30: "They are calling them ‘Anti-Sharia’ rallies, but let us call them what they are: ‘Anti-Muslim’ protests ... If your definition of Sharia was defined by an anti-Muslim bigot, you might want to rethink it and ask a Muslim who actually follows the religion of Islam."

ACT for America even disavowed its planned Saturday march in Arkansas when the organization "became aware that the organizer is associated with white supremacist groups."

"This is against all of our values," a message on the website read. "Any event held by this individual is not sanctioned by ACT for America, and is not supported or endorsed by ACT for America in any manner. We stand firmly opposed to any actions by individuals or organizations that seek to attack or intimidate based on race, religion, or sexual orientation. Our June 10th nationwide marches are in support of basic human rights for all — and against the horrific treatment of women, children, and members of the LGBTQ community that is sanctioned by Sharia law."

Gabriel, a Christian immigrant from Lebanon, believes that "Western civilization is under attack, fighting for its survival," and insists this is the reason for her activism.

"I'm an American that bleeds red, white and blue. And unlike spineless politicians or the fake news media, I'm not going to let what's happening in Europe happen to America. After decades of unveiled Islamic immigration, Europe is left defenseless," Gabriel said in a Facebook post on Wednesday previewing the rallies. "This is your chance to show the fake news media what you think of their open borders zealotry, to show spineless D.C. politicians what you think of their P.C. pandering, to show President Trump that you stand behind his necessary travel ban from terror-ridden nations."

"We will not let their phony cries of Islamophobia prevent us from standing up for our nation and for true human rights," Gabriel added. "The women's suffrage movement fought for our rights, not so you can genitally mutilate young American girls in the name of culture or religion, or kill women in the name of honor in Texas, Georgia or New York."

Large Anti-Sharia Rallies at San Bernardino Terror Site, LAX

    by ASSEMBLYMAN TIM DONNELLY

    San Bernardino, CA

On Saturday, hundreds gathered to protest against Islam’s sharia law at the site of the December 2015 terror attack in San Bernardino, California, and elsewhere throughout the state.

Protest rallies sponsored by ACT for America — Bridgette Gabriel’s anti-jihadist group — were held nationwide.

As the Los Angeles Times noted, a diverse group of over 500 demonstrators gathered at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino to protest what they described as the spread of sharia law in the United States.

They were met by smaller groups of counter-demonstrators, many from so-called “Antifa” groups. San Bernardino Police Officers handled security without any major incidents, except a few scuffles on the Anitfa side.

The San Bernardino protest was organized by Latinos for Trump co-founders Marco Gutierrez and Denise Ruiz.

Marco, who grew up in Mexico, became a US citizen in 2003, married his high school sweetheart in California, and founded Latinos For Trump in 2016.

Gutierrez told Breitbart News, “We’re here to defend our country, because our way of life is threatened now.

“It’s the totalitarian idea that you’ll do this or else — reminds me of the fight in Mexico between the Catholics and the Masons –so we have some experience with this kind of tyranny.”

Gutierrez added: “The media’s trying to make me decide whether or not my uncle who illegally immigrated to this culture should be deported, or whether my kids should be fed … and I choose that my kids get fed first, and if my uncle didn’t take steps to get his legal status in order, then I’m sorry, you’re going to have to go.”

A 17-year-old whose father is a member of a Tea Party echoed that same sentiment as the San Bernardino rally was winding down.

Another Latino for Trump activist, Irma Hinojosa, told Breitbart News that the Paris terror attacks of November 2015 had provoked her to become involved in politics.

After that, she said, she began researching Islam, read the Koran, and began following Trump, who got into the race and “really resonated with me.”

One thing that deeply offended her was the idea in sharia law that “men are in charge of women.”

Another activist Maria Quinterro, drove up from from Carlsbad.

“We had an event in Oceanside, but I wanted to be at ground zero — at San Bernardino, where the terrorist attack happened — I wanted to support those who lost loved ones here,” she told Breitbart News.

Another Latino For Trump activist, Valentina Bankhead, led a march into the Antifa crowd, which fled, pursued by the police. The protest devolved into mayhem for a few moments. The police dispersed the Antifa crowd, then turned out on horseback to push back the anti-sharia protestors.

Activists came from all over the country to speak out.

Robert, an activist from New York City, described the opposition as “melting snowflakes.”

One woman named “Sheena,” or Beverly, said that one of the San Bernardino victims had been a high school friend of hers. “He’s one of the guys that was killed in the terrorist attack, and if it could happen to him, it could happen to any of us. So, no sharia law.”

At the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) a similar event took place, and once again, the anti-sharia protest crowd outnumbered counter-demonstrators by a huge margin.

At the Tom Bradley terminal, about 100 activists waved signs, sang songs and networked as a small group of counter-demonstrators chanted from the median about 50 feet away.

The pro-Trump, anti-sharia protestors engaged travelers as they made their way out of the terminal, taking pictures and talking as a large phalanx of LAPD and LA Airport Police stood vigil.

Harim Uzziel, a Jewish Latino, who has been protesting the Antifa left nationwide, told Breitbart News:

“I actually believed Trump was a racist for the first week — yes, until I heard it from his own mouth — what he had to say,” Harim said. “At first the rumors put me off, but when I heard what he had to say, I jumped on the Trump Train. It was because of him that I became a hardcore American Patriot.”

Thank you, Harim Uzziel, thank you very very much! When people listen to Trump Direct, unfiltered by the CORRUPT MEDIA, you see an entirely different candidate and now President of the United States.

It is a shame, a tragedy really, that this wonderful Presidency that is and will continue doing so much to fix our country is being blacked-out, blocked and distorted by virtually every news outlet in the United States, and as a result so many Americans will miss out on the pleasure, joy and excitement of watching our new President and government Make America Great Again. It even spoils it for those of us who take the time to watch it through the weeds.

So great to see these Americans out there protesting for Muslims but against Sharia Law.
