SAN YSIDRO – Visitors heading south for Memorial Day weekend now have one more way to try to alleviate delays at the border.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection changed its Web site this week to include wait time for pedestrians crossing the border. The site already lists wait times for vehicle traffic.

The pedestrian feature is similar to the wait times listed for drivers, and will include the number of lanes that are open for those walking through. Information on the site is at apps.cbp.gov/bwt/ and will be updated hourly. In 2007, about 50 million pedestrians entered the U.S. through official ports of entry, according to the agency's site.
