Story appeared in METRO section, Page B2

SACRAMENTO – A Tulare man has been charged in federal court with peddling counterfeit birth certificates to an informant working for government agents.

Miguel Gonzalez Ramirez, 63, is accused of selling two phony New Mexico birth certificates and an Arizona birth certificate for $1,000 each between Sept. 19 and March 2.

The documents were issued in fictitious names supplied to the suspect by the informant, according to a grand jury indictment returned Thursday and an FBI criminal complaint filed Feb. 27.

Birth certificates are proof of U.S. citizenship and can be used to apply for legitimate federal and state identification documents, according to the criminal complaint. Those documents can then be used to obtain a U.S. passport, the complaint says.

You know what we need to do. Each of these stories need to be faxed to Senator McCains office. Every story of criminal illegal alien behavior needs to be on his desk.

Every victim story also needs to be on his desk.
