CA - REDLANDS: British man accused of molesting girl, 13

A British man was arrested Thursday, Dec. 27, at a Redlands motel after police say he committed lewd acts with a 13-year-old Highland girl whom he had met in an online chat room.

Adam James Michael Robinson, 21, had established an online relationship with the girl over the past year, and flew into California on Dec. 15, according to a Redlands police news release.

The girl's parents found out about the relationship, and notified authorities.

Detectives learned that Robinson was staying at a Redlands motel in the 1600 block of Industrial Park Avenue and arrested him. Evidence found in the motel and Robinson's car linked him to the victim, police said.

Robinson was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in San Bernardino in lieu of $1 million bail. The Immigration and Naturalization Service has placed a hold on him.
