Snyder hears worries on immigration

BENTON — Two months after President Bush’s immigration plan collapsed in the U. S. Senate, U. S. Rep. Vic Snyder on Tuesday heard an earful from several people here who said they want more to be done to crack down on illegal aliens.

Snyder, a Democrat from Little Rock, said in an interview that he’s heard “a wide spectrum of viewsâ€

"........a young woman, who declined to identify herself, expressed frustration with the foes of illegal aliens."

"She said there should be a way for illegal aliens who have been working for many years in this country to attain legal status. 'They can’t go home and leave their families,' the woman said with her daughter in her arms."

Why didn't he ask her how much money she and her child had cost the Arkansas taxpayers?
