Caddell: Republicans Are ‘Stupid Party’ for Not Running Against Amnesty

on Breitbart TV 10 Oct 2014, 4:22 PM PDT
Former Democratic pollster Pat Caddell blasted the Republican Party for not making the president’s planned executive amnesty a national issue on Friday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.
“The Republican Party, they’re not called the stupid party for nothing. These people are able to, are willing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory given the opportunity,” he stated.
“It's amazing to me. I've never seen a party that doesn't grab opportunities thrown at it like this,” he declared. And “they [Republicans] should be taking this issue and making it a national referendum issue against every Democrat, and for every Republican in the country.”
He speculated that Republicans have not made executive amnesty an issue because “they have a lot of donors, and a lot of their lobbyists telling them they want this. The Chamber of Commerce wants open borders, the Wall Street Journal wants open borders.”
Caddell slammed Republicans for not making executive amnesty a main issue in 2014, arguing, “these Republicans don’t seem to understand that the country is in a massive shift. Huge majorities saying the president doesn’t have the authority to do this, he shouldn’t do it without the Congress, and they should challenge it, even in New York.” And “holding the ball is the worse strategy, it is a disaster. The Republicans lost the Senate that they should have won in 2000 and 2012, because they refused to quote ‘be controversial about anything.’”

It is a behavior, now a habit, taught by their revered acting President. However, it is clear that that Republican party is RULED by their huge donors and not their constituents, nor swayed by the needs of them or the nation. They revere the dollar, putting the dollar ahead of people. A lesson Dad recited to me in 1952, a day or so after that election. It is true that if nothing changes, nothing changes.

Its only the Republican party groups out of DC that are avoiding the illegal immigration and amnesty issue. Many Republican candidates are running against amnesty for illegals regardless!

The only politician that I trust on a promise may be an Independent, for what I believe to be good reason based solely on past political experience. The republican party backed GWB and his open border policies. That was the party's opportunity to tell one of their leaders that the time had come to support sovereignty AND American workers! I could be wrong, but I do not recall even one Congressional voice, republican or democrat, publicly stating that Bush was wrong and vigorously pushing him for change in presidential policy regarding borders and aliens. Matter of fact, GWB felt emboldened enough by his party, that he pushed for amnesty. Electing more republicans and another republicans president, or more democrats, and a republican president will lead to more amnesty pushes. Both of those ways have been attempted and lead us NOWHERE in securing borders. Insanity is described as doing the thing over as you have done it and expecting different results is insane!!! However, I fully expect, that the electorate will do those things, one or the other, again.
We cannot have a Democrat for president and a Democratically controlled Congress obviously!
If we do not accept the lesson of historic error, we are bound to repeat them. Repeating them these past 30 years has brought us to the brink of disaster and I do not believe we have space to repeat them even one more time!
