I remember reading a news story about the problems the law was having in NY regarding 'mystery meat' or meats that various ethnic restaurants were serving. It mentioned lizard, rats, etc.

A Chinese restaruant in a small town where my son lives was cited for having a frozen cat in their restaurant freezer. They said it was for their own personal consumption - but the story put them out of business.
