    Construction resumes on border fence


    Associated Press - July 25, 2008 5:44 PM ET

    SAN LUIS, Ariz. (AP) - The Border Patrol says construction resumed this week on a border fence along the lower Colorado River.

    Border Patrol supervisor Ben Vik says the fence in the San Luis area is necessary to cut down on illegal crossings by migrants and by drug smugglers.

    The fence construction started at the beginning of the year.
