CBS News dismayed drunk driving illegals are getting arrested for such a minor offense

CBS News reporter Paula Reid is upset that the Trump administration is arresting illegals who drunk-drive.

A CBS News reporter is dismayed that the Trump administration is arresting illegal aliens who commit “minor” traffic offenses such as drunk driving. Drunk driving kills about 10,000 people in the United States every year.

CBS News “justice reporter” Paula Reid is apparently worried that the Trump administration isn’t merely targeting illegals who are violent criminals, but is also arresting “nonviolent” lawbreakers like drunk drivers. Reid reported on Saturday:

Federal immigration agents went to homes, parking lots, and even ally ways in February to arrest more than 680 people believed to be in the country illegally. In a statement following the raids, Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said approximately 75% of those arrested were convicted of crimes.
But new data obtained by the Washington Post shows that nearly half of the immigrants picked up in those raids either “had no criminal convictions or had committed traffic offenses,” including drunk driving, raising concerns about whether the President is only targeting violent criminals.

Paula Reid conveniently neglected to mention that 90% of the illegals who were convicted of traffic offenses were drunk drivers, and therefore were criminal offenders, NewsBusters reported.

Reid reluctantly admitted at the end of her biased report that “illegal border crossings are down 72% since the President took office 100 days ago.”

CBS News’ attempts to downplay President Trump’s accomplishments and suggest that he’s doing something wrong by cracking down on illegal immigration is why 94% of Americans say they do NOT trust the media.

Illegal immigration is not only a massive financial drain on taxpayers ($113 billion a year), but is also linked to numerous crimes, such as gang-related murders, drug violence and “harmless” traffic offenses.

Just ask Don Rosenberg, who misses his son Drew every day. Drew Rosenberg was mowed down by a car driven by an illegal alien. Drew was riding his motorcycle in San Francisco when Roberto Galo struck him in November 2010.

In a frantic effort to flee the scene of his crime, Galo ran over Drew twice, killing the 25-year-old student. After Galo was convicted of manslaughter, he served 6 weeks in jail and was released. In 2013, he was deported back to the Honduras.

Don Rosenberg said this tragedy would never have happened if Galo had not been in the United States illegally. “[My son] still would be alive if it wasn’t for this illegal immigrant,” he said.

It just doesn't make any sense.

What happens when an American gets caught driving drunk? Heavy fines, community service with a fee, maybe jail or prison, blow and go put in car another fee, attorney fees, counseling with a fee, court fees ?
Then you have illegals get a slap on the wrist and let them go. Then they do it again and again and still go free. Some don't even have a license and are still let go.
It is a crime and anyone here illegally breaking the law goes home, it is the law and should have been all along.

People need to ask why are illegal aliens treated so much better by law enforcement than US citizens? There's only one answer to that and it's the protection the drug cartels bought for them.
