CENTRAL AMERICAN NEWSPAPERS ENCOURAGING MINORS TO ENTER US ILLEGALLY

CENTRAL AMERICAN NEWSPAPERS ENCOURAGING MINORS TO ENTER US ILLEGALLY

    by KRISTIN TATE
    11 Jun 2014,

Thousands of illegal immigrants flooding the U.S.-Mexico border are overwhelming federal resources and facilities. Word-of-mouth and news reports that U.S. Border Patrol agents are giving perceived amnesty to children migrants has apparently spread in Central America and may be prompting more hopefuls to make the dangerous journey north.

La Prensa, a popular newspaper in Honduras with a circulation of more than 60,000 units, recently released a report called "U.S. military base in California used to house juveniles."

A translation from Spanish to English shows that the La Prensa report reads, "According to authorities today announced the base, the [children] will be accommodated between 3 and 4 months, while their parents or relatives in the United States responsible for their care are [located]."

It continued, "During your stay, plus accommodation and food, children receive English classes, play sports and participate in targeted programs while immigration authorities contact their families. According to the Department of Homeland Security in 2013, 88% of children met with a family who took care of them after spending an average of 40 days under the responsibility of the authorities...The costs of accommodation and other activities of children, including cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and equipment and repairs, among others, are the responsibility of the DHS. All minors who have entered illegally, but are allowed to remain in the country, also initiate a legal process that will decide their stay or deportation."

Newsmax pointed out that Diario El Mundo, a paper in El Salvador, recently reportedthat U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said, "Almost all agree that a child who crossed the border illegally with their parents, or in search of a father or a better life, was not making an adult choice to break our laws, and should be treated differently than Adult violators of the law."

It is easy to surmise that such reports emerging from Central America, some of which make U.S. processing facilities sound comfortable and enjoyable, could encourage more Honduras children to make the trip to the U.S.

Sylvia Longmire, a Breitbart Texas contributing editor and border security expert, said, "Many Americans don't understand the power of word-of-mouth in Latin America; it's like gossip in a small American town times ten. Word about anything, especially friends or family members going though the northbound migration or southbound deportation process, spreads very quickly."

"As immigrant detention policies are slowly changing in places like south Texas in order to accommodate spiking numbers of border crossings and subsequent illegal immigrant apprehensions, word is spreading about these changes," she continued. "Now that DHS doesn't want to split up families and is releasing so many non-criminal illegal immigrants with only orders to return in 15 days for a court hearing, those bring released are calling home."
Ultimately, the sharp increase in illegal immigration, which has been called a "humanitarian crisis," will likely only get worse as word of detention practices spreads throughout Central America.

Instead of dealing with the root of the border crisis, Washington's solution has been to throw money at the problem for a quick fix.

Senate Appropriations Chairwoman Barbara A. Mikulski told a panel, "This is a humanitarian crisis, and we have to go to the edge of our chairs to at least get the estimate for fiscal ’15...our failure to appropriate could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis."

New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen reportedly added, "Rather than worrying about the silos where the money comes from, we need to think about what we can do that’s right for the kids."

I love America. I am a veteran. I am old, tired and retired. My life savings was painfully acquired by a lifetime of self denial and sacrifice. I worked for every dime of it. I worked lousy jobs my whole life including 10 years doing production line factory work. My retirement is being jeopardized because of the near zero bank interest rates due the Fed policy that is a direct result of the 17 trillion dollars debt. With inflation, my savings dwindle ever month. It is too late in life for me to take risk investing in the stock market. If my savings run out I will be poor, struggling to live on my small Social Security payments. I drive a junk car that is so old I am afraid to go on long trips. At the food store my wife and I buy generic store brand foods because they are cheap and we use capons to save money.

I would like to ask the pro amnesty politicians: what about me? what about old geezer baggage like me who are too old to work? Will we be loaded on railroad boxcars and shipped of to "work" camps and have our property seized to make room for and provide money for these kids? Who is going to pay for Britt Hume's and the liberals' touchy feely unlimited benevolence. Certainly old geezers like me are not included in any of the sympathy lavished on foreigners who should not be here.

Another thought: If an American citizen sent his child alone or in the custody of a criminal stranger to cross a dessert into a foreign country where they did not even speak the language, that adult would be arrested on very serious charges of child abandonment and child abuse and probably put in jail. They would never ever be reunited with criminally irresponsible parents.

Instead the government is using our tax money to try and "reunite" foreign children with their supposed "families," the great majority of who are also here illegally.

Once again we have another example of the fraud, the lie of a "humanitarian" open borders policy.

According to Farenthold, they are walking up to the BP and handing them pieces of paper with the addresses of thei parents that they want to be taken to. Why hasn't the BP taken those addressees and arrested the parents?

Because it is ALL a scam on the American citizens perpetrated by a cynical political party.

Because this is another opportunity for 'Bama to thumb his nose at the American people.

There are approximately 59,000 children in foster care in Californai, alone. Support for them will end when they reach age 18. Too bad that Emporer 'Bama doesn't give a rat's rear end about them.

Listening to A Border Patrol agent speaking to Bill O'Reilly. They are discussing that anyone under 18 is considered a child and is to be reunited with family.

Mr. O'Reilly points out that anyone can lie that they are under 18 and there is no way to verify the truth. The agent laughs a bit and agrees.

Criminal what our government is allowing and promoting. The planned destruction of the United States has our very government as designer.

They're flocking here because their governments have realized what the wealthy in Mexico have known for years: The American government is not running the country for the benefit of Americans. I mean, what is to prevent us from just returning these kids to their home countries - and spending the big money on, for example, forster children? But we're not going to do that, because 'Bama has another great opportunity to thumb his nose at the American people.

BREAKING: Newspapers in Central America Advertising Obama's Open Borders For Illegals to US

Every day, thousands of illegals are flooding our borders at a cost of $252 per illegal to US taxpayers. Just wait until we're paying for their housing, food and health care!

Newspapers in El Salvador and Honduras are promoting policies by the Obama administration that defer deportation to minors brought to the United States as children by their parents — known as "Dreamers" — and those that are housing illegal children at military bases in the South and West.

"Almost all agree that a child who crossed the border illegally with their parents, or in search of a father or a better life, was not making an adult choice to break our laws, and should be treated differently than adult violators of the law," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson is quoted in a story about a new two-year extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act published by Diario El Mundo in El Salvador.

Signed by President Barack Obama in 2012, the law grants temporary legal status to many young illegal immigrants, ending the threat of deportation for at least two years.

The policy, however, does not entitle the immigrants to state services. The law was renewed for two more years.

"With the renewal of DACA, we act according to our values and code of this great nation," Johnson said. "But the biggest task of comprehensive immigration reform is yet to come."

Meanwhile, La Prensa of Honduras discusses in a report how as many as 500 illegal minors are being housed at the Naval Base Ventura County in Southern California.

"The children will be accommodated for between three and four months, while their parents or relatives are located in the United States," the report says.

"The administration of President Barack Obama has acknowledged he faces a serious crisis for the continuous arrival of children, mostly Central Americans, who are illegally entering the country on the border with Mexico."

Besides Mexico and Honduras, the report notes that many of the children are coming from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

"During their stay, in addition to accommodations and food, children receive English classes, play sports and participate in targeted programs while immigration authorities contact their families," the La Prensa report says.

On Monday, the Obama administration said that it would begin housing as many as 1,200 illegal minors at the Army base in Fort Sill in Oklahoma.

The plan was attacked last week by Oklahoma Republicans, who accused the administration of not giving them sufficient notice and that it would strain limited resources.

A similar shelter for that has accommodated about 1,820 minors over nearly four weeks has been operating at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Housing the illegals cost American taxpayers $252 per child per day.

The deluge of illegal immigrants is causing a burden on the border states of Texas and Arizona, and officials have been transporting children from south Texas to Arizona and leaving them at various locations, including holding centers and bus stations.
