Pallet recycling company IFCO was raided Wednesday by Immigration Enforcement agents.

Forty four suspected illegal immigrants were arrested after Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a Charlotte business.

All 39 U.S. locations of IFCO Systems were raided by customs agents in a nationwide sting Wednesday.

6NEWS visited the company's Charlotte location Wednesday afternoon and it looked deserted. Our reporters managed to find one supervisor, who did not want to talk.

"It doesn’t affect just one individual it affects whole families," said Angeles Ortega-Moore with the Latin American Coalition.

Ortega-Moore heads the Latin American Coalition. She said they have been getting phone calls from family members of those who have been arrested.

"When something like this happens it really uproots individuals. Family (members) left for work and thought they would be back at 5 or 6 O’ clock and they are not coming home," Ortega-Moore said.

Sources said I.C.E agents arrested 44 workers for allegedly being in this country illegally.

Agents have not said how long IFCO had been under investigation or how many arrests were made nationwide.

"Actions like this bring up the need for immigration reform because here is one company whose entire work force is dependant on immigrants and needs that workforce," Ortega-Moore said.

IFCO Systems manages a wooden pallet recycling system in the United States, but has other container businesses world-wide according to the company’s website.

In 2004 the company website said IFCO earned more than $459 million in revenue.

maybe some of these employers are calling these in after they saw the massive protests and workers didn't show up, think about it, they won't have to fire 'em

Uprooting families? Its's Illegal to be here without going through the proper channels!!!

When will these illegals, and their supporters get into their heads that what they are doing is illegal???? It's no different then if someone is running a crackhouse or a meth house, eventually the police will catch you, and you will have to pay the price for breaking the law!

This proves that the Latin-American Coalition in Charlotte is aiding and abetting illegal Aliens -- driving the stampede in

The Charlotte Mecklenburg School system is the wreckage of the stampede along with MS-13 gangs and all the other known negatives of illegal immigration.

In fact Angela Ortega-Moore was on the task force Board for advising the Char-Meck school reform that is going on now --- as over 100,000 students are illegal Alien children that speak only Spanish and require special bilingual programs --- we have crammed trailer classrooms--- and they keep pouring in to NC

Let also know that a Bank of America official was also on Board task force --funding illegal Aliens to drive the stampede -- as Bank of America donates to the National Council of La Raza.

As well folks if that isn't enough here is a message from NC Listen about a meeting tommorrow:

Also folks, just noticed CENTEX Construction rep. Bob Hambright--- it was reported on WBTV just a week or so ago a blip of news that some Construction companies with U.S. Government Contracts were hiring illegal Aliens. Even showed on the news at a CENTEX Construction sight a group of hispanic workers that when asked if they were illegal Aliens, most of the group raised there hands. This is an outrage and a center of illegal activity in Charlotte that is being supported.

Before the marches and protests, the illegals on the construction jobs would NEVER ADMIT the fact that they are illegal. The fact that they got by with protesting and no one was there to arrest them, gave them a false sense of security: "They are not going to arrest or deport us". I am so glad to see ICE out there doing the job that they are paid to do!!!
