Family of illegal alien gets $300,000 for his death

Newtown (AP)_ The family of an illegal alien who was electrocuted while working at a town owned building in Newtown will be getting a $300,000 settlement.

The settlement will benefit the young daughters of Ivan Patricio Tenecela, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador who was killed in 2004 when electricity from a power line shot through an aluminum ladder and shocked him.

The men were painting the outside of the Meeting House, a building that is maintained by the Heritage Preservation Trust of Newtown.

The settlement is with the town of Newtown and the Heritage Preservation Trust of Newtown as well as Campbell Quality Painting, the company that employed Tenecela.

At the time of his death Tenecela lived in Port Chester, N.Y.

How do people who are in the country illegally get a settlement? Sure, I feel bad for his kids, but come on. If he wasn't here (like he shouldn't have been) than he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Am I being heartless?

No, hell no, you're not being heartless. The $300K needs to be billed to Mexico, and then disbursed to the illegals after they are deported back to Mexico. Hell, give em an IOU from drug lords; let em collect from them.

    So, am I being heartless?
Ask me if I give a damn.

Well....our town just paid out a $2 million award to a family. The person who dies was an illegal alien.

Waukegan will pay $2M death award

    November 3, 2007
    NEWS-SUN STAFF REPORT

Distribution of more than $2 million from the city of Waukegan to the family of the late Wilson Alexander Lopez-Ochoa was finalized Thursday in Lake County Circuit Court.

Ochoa, 21, was killed when his car was struck by a Waukegan police squad car on Super Bowl Sunday 2005.

In court this week, the city agreed to pay the full jury award, withdraw objections and waive appeals.

The $2,032,992 will be distributed among Ochoa's family, including his parents and nine brothers and sisters. His parents and three siblings live in their native Honduras, two other siblings live in Waukegan and the others live in Georgia and Florida.

The award is the largest ever in Lake County for the wrongful death of a Hispanic, according to Ochoa's attorneys, Louis Cairo and Lawrence Ruder.

    Hi Fedup,
I hope you will share this

with your city attorney and city counsel, and with the local newspaper.

Illegals are laughing their asses off, as they murder and rape US citizens. You get the drift.

Think of the countless numbers of American citizens who have been wrongfully killed by illegal aliens. How about the drunken illegal alien drivers who kill innocent Americans on our roads? Who can those victims' families sue?? Huh?? Can we sue the Mexican government??

I think any wrongful death settlement awarded to an illegal alien's family should instead go to the American citizen victims of the illegal aliens themselves.

This is total and complete hypocricy! An illegal alien dies in the U.S., and his family gets a big payout. But if an illegal alien kills an American citizen, that citizen's family gets NADA!!!!!!!

Any judge who would allow or award these damages to INVADERS, needs to be removed from the bench! A legal visitor or tourist would be entitled to damages in certain situations but not illegal aliens who have no right to be here, no permission and came here disregarding our laws to 'GET' (polite for rake us over any which way they can!)The illegals are going to BLEED US DRY one way or another!

I listened to a lot of the radio discussion after the City of Waukegan was ordered to pay the 2 million or whatever it was to the family of Ochoa, an illegal killed in Waukegan. The situation is that there is no legislation that prevents an illegal or the family of illegals to sue the US or a city in the US. That is a problem. There needs to be legislation on the books saying that illegals and families of illegals CANNOT sue the US government or cities, states, etc. God, don't you wonder about the sanity of this country sometimes?

So this means the family of a would be robber who was using a ladder to break in can sue for damages if he gets electrocuted? I would think the fact he was killed during the commission of a crime would negate any calims by the family. Since this guy was here illegally, his working there was a crime so why should the family be awarded damages. This carp with illegals just doesn't stop...

Can the feds and state tax half of that, like they do lottery winnings? If not they need to pass a law to get the money back these illegals stole from Americans!
