Chicago Announces Illegal Alien Children Given Preference in Jobs, Internships

In a preview of what amnesty holds in store for the rest of America’s middle class and lower income workers, Chicago is putting illegal immigrants in the job pool ahead of many citizen students who would also like to have the opportunity.
In much the same way they or their parents were rewarded for violating American immigration law and given preference over those who lined up to immigrate legally, Chicago is offering internships, volunteer and job opportunities to illegal alien “dreamers.”
In “justifying” the discrimination against American citizens, Mayor Emanuel said, “Chicago is a city that was built by immigrants and I am committed to ensuring that DREAMers have the same opportunities offered by the City to all of Chicago’s youth. We will open our doors to support talented young people who are committed to their education, building their job skills, and bettering their communities.”
Those opportunities include 500 city internships, volunteer, and job opportunities on a year-round basis, as well as over 22,000 summer jobs, internships and training programs.
Pro-amnesty congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) said, “DREAMers and DACA recipients are assets that we need to nurture and develop like precious natural resources for the benefit of the entire community. They are an integral part of Chicago’s workforce of tomorrow. Once again, the City of Chicago and Mayor Rahm Emanuel are leading the way on the inclusion of our immigrant communities.”
Once again Gutierrez is endorsing the equal treatment and opportunity for people illegally in the country as those afforded to American citizens, to the detriment of those same citizens.
The announcement described a recruitment effort: “To maximize the availability and access to these opportunities for Chicago’s DREAMers, the Mayor’s Office of New Americans and the Department of Family and Support Services will lead a coordinated outreach campaign in targeted neighborhoods and schools with high concentrations of immigrant populations. These efforts will include distributing informational materials to immigrant students and families, hosting joint community events, and expanding marketing efforts through existing City programs.”
Additionally, the Department of Family and Support Services will be involved in an outreach program to fill the available positions with illegal aliens. Department of Family and Support Services Commissioner Evelyn Diaz said, “Immigrant and undocumented students face a range of unique challenges and barriers to leveraging their skills. That is why DFSS will work with its public agency partners to inform students and families of these summer enrichment programs and internship opportunities and encourage DREAMers to apply.”
In addition to offering the positions, the city is spending money to train their staff in how to provide preferential treatment for illegal aliens. That notice, by Department of Human Resources Commissioner Soo Choi read, “We are conducting tailored training for City staff to provide Chicago’s DREAMers with opportunities to excel outside the classroom and obtain valuable professional experience in City government.” Choi continued, “With this training, we can ensure that DHR and all City staff are well equipped to provide DREAMers with the information they need so they can continue contributing to this city.”
The pandering officials act as if there is an unlimited supply of jobs. There is not. Every position that goes to an illegal is one that a citizen won’t have. Just as in the overall amnesty, every preferential act for an illegal creates a corresponding act of discrimination against the citizen who is being excluded.
It is a prelude to what we will all see if the Democrats are successful in pushing amnesty on the adult population as well.

"... is a prelude to what we will see if Democrats are successful in pushing amnesty ..." the author says. I do not believe (never did) that Democrats are the only party pushing amnesty. From the rear so has Republicans since 1986. Why would'nt Repubs stand for aliens when it represents cheap labor for persons and corps. capable of huge contributions for campaigns. I never did understand why that was hard to understand. If Americans will not stand up politically for the salvation of their own nation politically, they will not stand later.

However, this thing in Chicago, preference openly shown for Dreamers, is just plain wrong. It offers political training, so to speak, to the people that the government should have kept our or deported in the first place. Political training that will make them tomorrows leaders over American citizens? With the results known about winners in primaries this very spring, it does not look like that American voters are yet looking after American children again!

I do not understand why American parents will not vote in the interest of their own children! Would someone. please, explain it to me?? PLEASE EXPLAIN!

Makes no sense to me either! Parents should be outraged that a foreigner is getting special treatment ahead of their own child. This is unacceptable! People had better stand against these illegals, put our citizens first where they should be and deport those who don't belong here.

The American people/parents must begin to protest before it's too late, attend local school board meetings, contact your Representatives to let them know how you feel, use your wallet by boycotting groups/business who support the illegal invasion.

The city of Chicago is becoming the most amnesty-friendly city in America, as it’s beginning to impose affirmative action policies to put illegal immigrant children first in the job pool.

The opportunities include 500 city internships, volunteer and job opportunities in addition to 22,000 summer jobs, internships and training programs.

Mayor Emanuel, a close friend of President Obama, applauded his city’s “progress.”

“Chicago is a city that was built by immigrants and I am committed to ensuring that DREAMers have the same opportunities offered by the City to all of Chicago’s youth. We will open our doors to support talented young people who are committed to their education, building their job skills, and bettering their communities,” he said.

Black youth in Chicago are in desperate need of jobs and training. Take care of US citizens first.

In a recent proclamation, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that he intends to give city jobs and internships to so-called "DREAMers," youngsters in the country illegally.

In the announcement, Emanuel proudly stated that "for the first time" Chicago is "opening up nearly 23,000 City-funded internship, volunteer, and job opportunities for undocumented students, or 'DREAMers.'"

"DREAMers and DACA recipients are assets that we need to nurture and develop like precious natural resources for the benefit of the entire community," Congressman Luis V. Gutiérrez (D-IL) says in the announcement. "They are an integral part of Chicago’s workforce of tomorrow. Once again, the City of Chicago and Mayor Rahm Emanuel are leading the way on the inclusion of our immigrant communities."

The announcement goes on to lament the "barriers" that illegal alien teens find to gaining city jobs:

In December 2012, the Chicago New Americans Plan highlighted barriers that DREAMer students faced, including language barriers and information gaps about the opportunities available to them. These impediments have in the past served as an obstacle for these students and their families, in some cases preventing them from accessing critical enrichment programs.

It seems that one "barrier" was not taken notice of – that these students are not citizens and not legally eligible for such opportunities.

In the announcement, Emanuel also promised to "eliminate administrative barriers to employment and internship" for DREAMers and said that he is ordering city staffers to help these students file for "deferred action documentation."

Mayor Emanuel also announced that he is also going to "train" city authorities in how to aid illegal alien applicants with paperwork and in how to get them government assistance.

The Mayor said, "The City will begin training its staff to ensure they are well equipped to help immigrant students receive accurate and helpful information about opportunities available to them."
