Child Rapist Deported to Ecuador

An illegal immigrant convicted of raping a child in Ecuador has been deported back to that country by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Manuel Fernando Cajamarca-Curillo, 25, was convicted of child rape in Ecuador in July 2012 by the Appeals Court of the Special Criminal Division. At the time, he was sentenced to more than eight years behind bars.

Cajamarca-Curillo fled the country immediately following his conviction, making his way into the U.S. illegally and living here for a few years before being detained and deported by ICE, according to a news release.

“ICE will continue to work closely with domestic and international law enforcement partners to ensure individuals such as Mr. Cajamarca-Curillo are removed from the U.S.,” Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Newark Field Office Director John Tsoukaris said in a statement.

Cajamarca-Curillo is also under investigation in Ecuador for the rape and murder of another minor in a separate incident.

Cases like these rely on the help of local and international officials to remove violent criminal illegal immigrants, something that is often prevented due to “sanctuary city” policies.

In sanctuary city Philadelphia for instance, an accused Dominican child rapist living in the country illegally was not handed over to ICE by police, allowing him to roam free for at least a year, as Breitbart Texas reported.

The accused child rapist was recently caught by ICE officials where he is now awaiting a trial in immigration court.
