Five men suspected of being illegal immigrants who came ashore on the north end of Singer Island are in U.S. Border Patrol custody today, and authorities continue to search for the boat believed to have smuggled them here, said Border Patrol spokeswoman Elee Erice.
The men in custody are reported to include three Chinese, one Colombian and one Haitian, Erice said.
Palm Beach County deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Lost Tree Way at 6:21 a.m. when a security guard in the area reported three “suspicious persons” walking in the area of the private golf community of Lost Tree Village, an unincorporated stretch of Singer Island.
