From the desk of Gen. Chuck Yeager:
November 20, 2006
To my Fellow Americans,
Congressman Duncan Hunter is the best candidate for President of the United States of America that I know - he has integrity, tenacity, courage, and diplomacy. He is intelligent and thoughtful, does his research, and acts on it.
I have known Congressman Duncan Hunter for over 35 years. Duncan served his country in the Army and is a Vietnam vet. In Vietnam, he served in one of the most dangerous outfits - the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 75th Army Rangers....

PROTECTING THE BORDER
Congressman Hunter believes in providing and maintaining strong border enforcement for America. Duncan Hunter’s border initiatives include:
700 miles of fencing and infrastructure - by law - across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas
Hiring of thousands of new Border Patrol Agents
Increased funding for new facilities and vehicles for U.S. Border Patrol
Increased lighting and surveillance equipment along the border
The Double Fence Pilot Project, extremely successful in cutting drive through drug smuggling
Strict enforcement of our nation’s current immigration laws
Opposing efforts to provide amnesty or state-issued drivers’ licenses to illegal immigrants
Introduced the True Enforcement and Border Security Act of 2005 that creates a border security zone along the entire southern border of the U.S. This bill will incorporate fencing, roads and technology to secure our border from illegal crossings and will increase the number of Border Patrol agents by 8000 over the next 6 years
Co-sponsored and supported the passage of the REAL ID ACT. This legislation enacted nationwide standards for the issuance of state driver’s licenses and provided the Secretary of Homeland Security with the authority to complete the remaining 3.5 miles of the San Diego border fence
Co-sponsored the Secure Fence Act of 2006 that requires border security fencing be erected in several specific locations along America’s land border with Mexico
"Congressman Hunter's efforts to build fencing, hire additional Border Patrol agents, and provide new resources have made our community safer, on both sides of the border." - Muriel Watson, border control activist
