JUST IN: Ryan pushes Trump to give amnesty

House Speaker Paul Ryan on Friday delivered a huge coup for supporters of Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, saying on his hometown radio station WCLO in Janesville, Wisconsin, that Congress was working on a plan to preserve the plan.


“I actually don’t think he should do that,” Ryan said about Trump’s consideration of terminating the program. “I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix.”




The sentiment marks the strongest support shown for the Obama-era policy by a Republican leader, despite its longtime status as a Republican target.


Under DACA, 800,000 “Dreamers,” who immigrated to the US illegally as children, are allowed to stay in the country under two-year, extendable work permits.


Numerous moderate Republicans, Democrats, and Trump himself have voiced support for the program.


Ryan worked on comprehensive immigration reform before joining the ranks of the Republican leadership and said he supports the track of legislative debate over the outright scrapping of the program.


“President (Barack) Obama does not have the authority to do what he did … we’ve made that very clear,” Ryan said in the radio interview. “Having said all of that, there are people who are in limbo. These are kids who know no other country, who were brought here by their parents and don’t know another home. And so, I really do believe that there needs to be a legislative solution.”


According to CNN, the White House is exploring options to buy time on making a decision on DACA, which was previously slotted to be made Friday.

“In terms of DACA, echoing again on what Tom (Bossert) said earlier, the final decision on that front has not been made; and when it is, we will certainly inform everybody in this room,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

ryan is nauseating and un-American - get rid of him!

Now the President says we will know something "Sunday, Saturday or Monday." It should have been one of those days of the week 7 months ago. Days more left for backlash from media and others and lots of sad stories to persuade the public to accept any amnesty, now or in the future.

Now it's Tuesday.

Yep, President Trump has shown his 'true colors' on the DACA amnesty. Like I've said in the past, Trump is prolonging the program as long as he can while the U.S. Congress works on a legislative fix that will eventually give them all citizenship.

Congress, like Trump, is now feeling the heat and will start the wheeling and dealing in earnest next week to come up with a legislative fix that will legalize those currently in DACA and all those eligible that have yet to enroll in the program.

We're currently hearing very little from those opposed to a future citizenship for those enrolled in DACA. However, the leftist news media is churning non-stop to right now to convince the American public that a path to citizenship for DACA members is the only viable option.
