A man wanted for murder in Austin was caught by Border Patrol agents as he tried to illegally enter the United States, Border Patrol announced in a press release.

Roy Rogers Soliz, 58, of Plugerville, was arrested Thursday.

According to a Travis County Sheriff’s Office press release, Christopher Carson, 38, was shot on Jan. 21 and was pronounced dead at an Austin hospital a short time later.

The news release said that Soliz knew the victim.

During a records check, agents discovered that Soliz had four active arrest warrants out of Travis County for murder, terroritic threat (family violence), interfere with emergency telephone call, and assault with injury (family violence).

Soliz was turned over to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office pending extradition.
