Gonzales finds border issues a little personal
U.S. attorney general, a son of immigrants, will travel to Mexico

WASHINGTON - Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says his family history will inform his approach to policy when he discusses border and immigration issues with Mexican officials this week.28

Gonzales, a Houstonian who is the first Hispanic to serve as the nation's top law enforcement officer, is expected to meet with his Mexican counterpart, Rafael Macedo de la Concha, and President Vicente Fox on Wednesday in Mexico City. He also will meet with other Cabinet members.

"Relationships are important," Gonzales said in an interview. "I want to spend some time to get to know some of their leaders."

Justice Department officials said the visit will include discussions about drug trafficking, illegal immigration and border security.

Gonzales' parents were Mexican immigrants, and he says he pictures their faces and those of other immigrants he has met when he considers border control issues.

He emphasizes the need to facilitate movement by thousands of law-abiding Mexicans who cross the border each day for work.

Still, he insisted that his "own personal views, personal allegiances, and my loyalty to the president have to be set aside to support the law."

Gonzales backs White House policy to expand the U.S. guest worker program, which would legalize the status of some of the 10.3 million undocumented Mexican workers in the United States, a move that Fox has demanded for years, and some Republicans on Capitol Hill have decried.

Fox has spoken consistently in favor of full amnesty and against the construction of more walls along the U.S. border.

DUH! I knew when Bush appointed Gonzales, that he was part of Bush's 'open borders' plan.

Of course the king of the anchor babies holds this issue near and dear to his heart. If it wasn't for our lax pathetic immigration laws granting automatic citizenship to illegal alien babies born on US soil, then Gonzales wouldn't have been eligible to be an AG in the first place.

Dear Senor or To Whom it May Concern:

And your association with La Raza should raise many eyebrows .. it raised both of mine.

You're a very valuable asset to them. A house divided against itself cannot stand .. wise Bible proverb .. so since you, Gonzales, have allegiance to La Raza how can you have allegiance to the country you swore in your oath of office to uphold, protect and defend. That would be THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!

    A BIG SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Here's some wise advice for you, Gonzales, and I saw your picture by every entry ... pity your divided heart. (Maybe there's a message for you in the below .. I'd bet on it!) Isn't your allegiance REALLY to Mexico? Traitor!

    Matthew 6:24

"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't serve both God and Mammon. WEB

No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. ASV

No man is able to be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other, or he will keep to one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth. BBE

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. DBY

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. KJV

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. WBS

"No man can be the bondservant of two masters; for either he will dislike one and like the other, or he will attach himself to one and think slightingly of the other. You cannot be the bondservants both of God and of gold. WEY

None is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one, and despise the other; ye are not able to serve God and Mammon. YLT

Great advice for Alberto and many corporations (not to mention churches, unions & politicians).

I like your avatar with the doggie wear that's made in America. It's hard to find that anymore. Not doggiewear...things made in America. I was thinking of appealing to some "made in America" companies, like Harley Davidson Motorcycles, to see if they would help us. But so many companies are going global, its hard to keep up with. Some companies are American-owned but most of their factories are in foreign lands. There is almost nothing that is 100% owned by Americans and made in America anymore.

I bought the e-book "How Americans Can Buy American: The Power of Consumer Patriotism." It's difficult to use in e-book form. If anyone is thinking about buying it, I'd recommend buying the actual book instead of the e-book.

Thanks for your comments and see http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-1170.html for the link where I got the doggie avatar.

Hint .. we should all pick a jpeg from that site and make it our avatar in support of MMP. :P

Since you mentioned "Made in America" check http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-1163.html for a good perspective on CAFTA.

Just remember one thing Mr. Gonzalez. You are attorney General of the UNITED STATES. That is where your allegiance should be. If you cannot
honor your oath of office, then I suggest that you resign.
