Sd MinuteMen Denied right to Clean Freeway

    Ray Carney
To Steven Saville: First of all other groups which protest "VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW" have been awarded stretched of roadways under the "ADOPT A FREEWAY" program, from neighborhood watch groups, The Say No to Drug chapters and Mothers Against Drunk Driving all of which meet the criteria set by the State of California and is the same throughout the country. To relocate their freeway to the middle of the county while knowing that the group adopting the freeway is based and most of it's members live in the NORTHERN END OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY is a violation of the states criteria and needs to be challenged in a court of law. Since the SAN DIEGO MINUTEMEN are a multi ethnic group which does not DISCRIMINATE and which opposes an ILLEGAL ACT or ACTIVITY and wished to conduct some COMMUNITY SERVICE to better their neighborhoods and roadways. As to the claim of SAFETY RISK or DISRUPTION OF TRAFFIC is FALSE. ANYONE picking up litter on a busy California freeway or roadway poses a potential risk to the individual and motorist and will always cause some disruptions to freeway movements. I can only assume that the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) was influenced by other forces which want to deny LAW ABIDING and NON VIOLENT citizens of California their rights to FREE SPEECH and rights to participate and a COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM open to all who meet the criteria are being VIOLATED. My suggestion to the SAN DIEGO MINUTEMEN is to go into court and file for an INJUNCTION against the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to have the signs replaced along the stretch of freeway which was assigned to them by application or to suspend ALL participants in the ADOPT A FREEWAY PROGRAM until ALL applications past, present, pending are investigate thoroughly There is law that supports the application of the San Diego Minutemen in their request to participate in the ADOPT A FREEWAY program. It would be wise for the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) to reconsider their politically motivated decision before this matter get played out in the courts in which the SAN DIEGO MINUTEMEN will prevail. Now this is the part that is asinine. How many illegals are going to be driving down this section of freeway through the Border Patrol checkpoint? None. So who is being "offended"?

I'm offended by almost the entire country ,not to mention the world.
I guess that means we should shut down all roads.... except I am not a member of La Raza or the ACLU - so I guess that won't be happening
