Attorney: Feds have not backed up Arpaio claims
by Jim Cross/KTAR (January 11th, 2012 @ 4:13pm)
Last month, the Department of Justice called Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigration policy "the most egregious case of racial profiling" they've ever seen.
Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said the federal government still have not backed up that claim.
"It can't escape us that it's also a presidential election year and that's also what troubles me to, because the allegations made in that letter are very serious," said Montgomery.
Montgomery has requested more information from the federal government on the investigation into Arpaio and, so far, has received no reply, he said.
"I haven't even had an acknowledgement from the letter I sent," said Montgomery. "Or any expression that my concerns are legitimate or that the Department of Justice is taking them seriously."

Wasn't Arpaio supposed to kiss the Obama behinds by Jan. 4th? LOL....
Arpaio's lawyers set a Jan. 18 date for the Justice Department to say whether they would provide the information and believe federal officials could provide that information by March 19.Last edited by airdale; 01-13-2012 at 03:42 AM.
