11 arrested after vehicle flees from agents at I-35 checkpoint

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents arrested several individuals when the semi-tractor they were in fled from a checkpoint.

The incident began when Border Patrol agents encountered a semi at the primary inspection area at the checkpoint on Interstate 35. Agents performed immigration inspections on the driver and passenger, but as a K-9 agent approached the vehicle, the driver put it in gear and pulled away from the checkpoint.

Agents followed the vehicle, which pulled over just north of the checkpoint. Several people were observed running from the truck into the brush.

A search of the area resulted in the apprehension of 11 people, along with the driver and front passenger.

All 11 were taken into custody for processing, and the driver was charged with human smuggling.

Deport every last one of them on the spot!

Send them to San Diego base for holding.

Let the Navy and Coast Guard put them on barges until it is FULL and ship them back!
