Thread: TX- Illegal Alien kills Houston Cop

The family of a man accused of killing HPD Officer Henry Canales says he shot the officer because he did not know he was undercover.

Officer Canales, 42, was fatally shot during a reverse sting operation conducted by HPD’s Burglary, Theft and Auto Division around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the gunman followed Canales to the back of a rental truck and pulled out a pistol. The two exchanged gunfire, and Canales was struck once. Both the officer and the suspect fell to the ground.

The sting was conducted outside a Walgreens at Bellaire and Hillcroft in southwest Houston.

Holding back tears outside their Northwest Houston home, Wednesday, relatives of the suspect said their father was a good man who has never been in trouble in the past.

They said he went to buy cheap televisions Tuesday night and as he left the house said he felt as if they were, ‘too cheap.’ He thought something was suspicious about the deal.

When he arrived in the parking lot, they say, he bought a TV, but then changed his mind and tried to get his money back. It is unclear what happened next, but this family is convinced their father pulled out a gun and shot the undercover officer because he feared for his life.

The suspect’s family is getting their information from a second suspect arrested Tuesday night who was at the scene of the shooting and is now in jail.

Relatives of the suspect say he is not a legal resident. He is married and has two children. The suspect buys and sells cars for a living out of his home.

HOUSTON—The Houston Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Undercover Houston Police Officer Henry Canales was killed Tuesday night in a shootout at a Walgreens parking lot.

Officer Canales, 42, was shot during a reverse sting operation conducted by HPD’s Burglary, Theft and Auto Division around 9:40 p.m. outside the pharmacy at Bellaire and Hillcroft in southwest Houston.

Sorry to read that yet another officer has died at the hands of an an illegal criminalien, however not suprising here in Sanctuary City, Texas!! How many more officers have to die in the line of duty at the hands of these scumbags?? When is enough going to be enough?? Two policemen have been killed by illegals in the past few years under the watch of Houston Mayor Bill White, how can this guy sleep at night knowing his officers can not question the status of many they arrest, which puts them more in harms way!! It will also be interesting to see what pro-illegal spin the Houston Chronicle will have in the next few days.

Just three short comments. First, Bill White says he's changed -- mmm-hmm. Secondly, American citizenship is either worth a lot more than any illegal alien ever dreamed, or this perp is just another murderer chasing loot for fast money. Thirdly, these were two fine Latino law officers, one of whom was killed, probably by a Mexican scumbag. I'd bet a nickel this event won't make even one more Latino citizen stand with his countrymen instead of Mexican friends and relatives.

Yes, but the ILLEGAL who murdered HPD Officer Rodney Johnson did not receive the Death Sentence. As far as I know the murderer's ILLEGAL EMPLOYER is still out on bail. Heavy Fines and FELONY JAIL time for ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS!
