CONN - Man pleads guilty to illegally entering country

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A Colombian man has pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the U.S. after being deported.

Court documents say 56-year-old Carlos Alberto Deosa-Munera has been deported four times. He lived in Waterbury while in the U.S. and was convicted of third-degree sexual assault. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Deosa-Munera admitted to federal immigration officers that he was born in Colombia, was still a citizen of that country, and had been deported several times.

Deosa-Munera faces up to 10 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
