Haiti - Social : Continuation of expulsions of Haitians in the Bahamas

While the Government of Haiti, despite its many promises (like the Dominican Republic) was not unable to provide identification documents to Haitian migrants in an irregular migratory situation in the Bahamas (including a passport requirement), the Government of the Bahamas, that has implemented since November 2014 very strict measures continues to repatriate to their country of origin, all regular aliens

Since the beginning of June, no less than 420 illegal immigrants have been repatriated and Bahamian authorities are planning to repatriate additional 180 who are waiting in the detention centers. Since the beginning of the year more than 2,000 foreigners were repatriated besine the majority of Haitians, also of Jamaicans, Brazilians and various other nationalities.

In 2014, the Bahamas has repatriated 3,330 Haitians on some 3,868 illegal aliens returned to their country of origin.
