Democratic presidential candidate Lincoln Chafee said Friday that support for increased immigration will result in more votes for the Democratic Party.

“We’re right on immigration,” said the former Rhode Island governor and senator, during the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting in Minneapolis.

“The fastest growing voting bloc in the country,” Chaffee added. “Of course we want that people to be treated with respect and to vote Democratic.”

Chafee’s statement undermines Democrats’ claim that they support liberal immigration policies for humanitarian reasons, and bolsters a line of attack from anti-immigration advocates who accuse Democrats of political sabotage.

Chafee is a former Republican who switched parties in 2013.

I don't know why any American wants to overpopulate and bankrupt our nation with illegal immigration to score more voters. So I'm going to try to understand this.

1. You want illegal immigration to get more votes.

2. You want more votes to get elected.

3. You get elected to let more illegal aliens into the country.

4. You pass immigration reform to get more votes from more illegal aliens.

5. You get more votes to get elected to allow more illegal aliens into the country.

6. You allow more illegal aliens into the country to pass more immigration reform to get more votes to get elected to allow more illegal aliens into the country so you can pass more immigration reform to get more votes.

Democrats are like hamsters on a tread wheel, except hamsters have more intelligence because they know when to stop running and get off the wheel.

But the good news is that Lincoln Chaffee has no more chance of being the nominee than Lindsey Graham. Whew, at this time in America's history a bit to be grateful for. Difficult to find as it is!
