Convicted Sex Offender Nabbed by U.S. Border Patrol

Calexico, Calif. – Early yesterday morning, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador with criminal history of felony sex charges.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m., when Border Patrol agents working near the Calexico East port of entry apprehended a group of five illegal aliens attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico. All five illegal aliens were transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station where agents discovered that one of the group members is a convicted sex offender who had previously been deported from the U.S. He was identified as 33-year-old Rodolfo Castillo-Sosa, a convicted felon out of Los Angeles Calif. with extensive criminal history including a charge for sex with a minor under the age of 16.

Castillo is currently being held by the U.S. Border Patrol where he will be presented for federal prosecution charges.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
