A 15-year-old aspiring police officer was stabbed to death by members of a Dominican gang known for having illegal aliens in its ranks, according to reports.
In what NYPD Chief Terence Monahan is calling “among the most brutal crimes I've seen in my 36-year career,” Lesandro Guzman-Feliz was ambushed and hauled out of a Bronx bodega by suspects wielding knives and machetes and “slaughtered like an animal on the street," his family is paraphrased as saying.
The story and chilling surveillance video have shocked local residents and law enforcement alike due to the extreme savagery displayed by the killers, who were later identified as members of a Dominican gang called the ‘Trinitarios’ by fellow members, who reportedly apologized to the victim’s family, saying they ‘had the wrong person.’
Derek Grullon, the boyfriend of Guzman-Feliz’s sister, told the New York Post that they had received social media messages from the Trinitarios ‘top leader,’ who assured the grieving family that the guilty members had been kicked out.
“I’m sorry,” the Trinitario reportedly said in a Snapchat message. “I know it doesn’t mean a lot. It wasn’t supposed to be him.”
NYPD sources have confirmed to the Post that Trinitarios are suspected in the slaying, as well as the subsequent stabbing of a 14-year-old, also in the Bronx.
“The stabbing murder of this young man is among the most brutal crimes I’ve seen in my 36-year career,” NYPD Chief Monahan tweeted with an accompanying video of the crime, asking for help identifying suspects.
NYPD has arrested five suspects and anticipates additional apprehensions.
According to a recent report by the Center For Immigration Studies, more than 500 DACA recipients whose statuses were revoked due to criminal or gang involvement were still at large in the US - some of whom were known to belong to Trinitarios.
A 2008 report in the Post warned that Trinitarios, comprised largely of second-generation Dominican teens, were recruiting heavily in New York and New Jersey schools.
“The Trinitarios are considered the fastest-growing gang in New York and renowned for using machetes and violence to make a statement,” a gang investigator said at the time.
The heinous killing of yet another innocent American by vicious Hispanic gang members comes at a time when the debate over immigration and border control is reaching a crescendo, as leftists simultaneously demand open borders and defend “animals” in murderous posses like MS-13 and Trinitarios.

A member of the same ruthless gang that butchered a boy in the Bronx and savagely stabbed another has been arrested for attacking a man on the Upper East Side, cops said.
Missael Alvarez, 16, of the Bronx was collared Thursday night in connection with the June 18 assault and attempted robbery.
Alvarez and his accomplice approached a 46-year-old man from behind as he walked to work on East 75th Street near Lexington Avenue just before 4:30 a.m., cops said.
They struck him multiple times in the head and threw him to the ground, before the victim fought back and was stabbed, cops said. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital with minor injuries.
Police say Alvarez is a member of the Trinitarios, the same gang responsible for the brutal death of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz outside a Bronx bodega on June 20. The Trinitarios were also involved in the June 18 attack on a 14-year-old boy on the Bronx River Parkway.
It is unknown whether Alvarez was involved in either of those incidents, officials said.
Alvarez’s accomplice is described as between 17 and 22 years old, with a medium build, last seen wearing black pants, black shoes, a long-sleeve black shirt and a black baseball hat.

From frame to stomach-churning frame, The Post has learned what role each of the Trinitarios gang members are alleged to have played in the slaughter of an innocent teen at a Bronx bodega.
Police and prosecutors have identified all eight men accused of killing 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz on June 20 and described their alleged roles in the caught-on-video murder.
They have all professed their innocence.
The attack began in the Cruz and Chiky Grocery in Tremont at East 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue, where Guzman-Feliz, an aspiring NYPD detective, tried to hide from his pursuers, who authorities say had mistaken him for another young man.
Surveillance video shows the boy climb over the counter, even as a worker tries to stop him.
A man in a green do-rag — identified by authorities as Danel Fernandez, 21 — then walks into the store.
He is followed by 19-year-old Kevin Alvarez in a white T-shirt, authorities said.
Based on the prosecutors’ identification of the suspects, this is what the videos show happens next:
Fernandez and Alvarez drag their prey outside as Guzman-Feliz clings to the doorway and desperately flails, trying to escape.
Meanwhile, another video shot from an apartment window shows several other gangbangers prowling outside.
Just as Fernandez and Alvarez wrench Guzman-Feliz loose from the doorway, José Muniz, 21, enters the frame and brings down a machete on the boy’s torso and legs at least twice in a hacking motion.

Next into the frenzy is a mask-wearing Elvin Garcia, 23, who can be seen in video unleashing eight thrusts of his knife.
Alvarez then takes off down East 183rd Street.
Fernandez pulls a blade from his waistband and leans in to strike, but apparently can’t get a good angle and runs off.
Then three more join the melee. They’re identified as Manuel Rivera, in a black T-shirt and black pants; Jonaiki Martinez, in a red hat and a white tank top; and another man, dressed all in black, visible only in the apartment video.

Rivera gets in at least four plunges of his knife and bolts, leaving Martinez to perform what is believed to be the killing blow.
Gripping Guzman-Feliz from behind, Martinez drags his blade across the teen’s throat, then turns and races off. Bleeding out, Guzman-Feliz goes back into the store to plead for help. He briefly collapses on the counter as a bodega worker and another figure motion frantically toward the door. Guzman-Feliz hoists himself up and exits.
Next, he’s seen outside, appearing to yell something and motioning with his hands. He then begins jogging toward St. Barnabas Hospital a block away.
A final video, shot down the block, shows the gore-covered teen clinging to life as people try to stanch his wounds with what appear to be napkins.
Blood covers the boy’s right leg and much of his left. It streams down his throat and onto his chest.
Several people scream, including a man who yells, “That’s Junior! That’s Junior, bro!”
“Oh, my gosh, my little brother,” a woman bawls.
All seven men, plus an eighth, José Taveres, have been variously charged with murder, gang assault and assault with a weapon.
They all pleaded not guilty at their arraignments.
