HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5 (acn) Cuban and US representatives held a technical meeting in the city of Miami on Thursday to address ways to increase bilateral collaboration in the fight on trafficking in persons and migration fraud.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held in a respectful and professional environment as the two sides agreed to advance joint work in the area and sign accords to formalize exchange initiatives in an effort to effectively neutralize those who practice the trafficking in persons.

The two sides also agreed to keep holding this kind of technical meetings in the future.

The Cuban delegation was headed by Colonel Mario Mendez, Chief of the Identification, Immigration at the Interior Ministry and made up of official from that institution and from the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

On the US side were representatives of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, along with officials from the departments of State and Justice.
