Cruz: DHS blocking Cuban refugees from entering U.S. because they 'tend to vote Republican'

The Biden administration is "being utterly shameless," Cruz said. "We're on a path to have over 2 million people crossing our southern border illegally this year."

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz blasted Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for saying that Cubans who come to the U.S. by sea will be turned away as his department releases thousands of illegal migrants, stopped at the southern border, into U.S. communities.

According to a report on Tuesday, border patrol has released about 50,000 illegal immigrants without a date to appear in court, and only 13% of them have reported to an ICE office. In the past, migrants eligible for release into the U.S. after being caught at the border were assigned court dates.

Former President Donald Trump reached an agreement with Mexico that required migrants awaiting their court hearings to remain in Mexico instead of the U.S. The Biden administration terminated that agreement.

Cruz was asked for his response to Mayorkas saying Cubans won't be allowed into the U.S. by sea after protests broke out in Cuba, which is ruled by a communist regime.

"I think it reeks of hypocrisy," Cruz told Just the News at a rally for freedom in Cuba held on Capitol Hill. "This is an administration that has presided over an absolute catastrophe at the border, and ironically, the only group of illegal immigrants that that the Biden administration wants to keep out are Cubans, and one has to think the reason for that is that Cubans tend to vote Republican.

"And they're being utterly shameless. We're on a path to have over 2 million people crossing our southern border illegally this year, and the Biden administration needs to enforce the law and stop playing politics with the safety and security of Americans."

According to a local media report in Dallas, U.S. border patrol is still releasing COVID-positive migrants into U.S. communities.

Exit polls in the 2020 presidential election show that Cubans voted in favor of Trump over Biden.

Block them ALL. Stop picking and choosing who can come here!

Slam the whole border shut too!

We are not the solution to the entire world's problems!

No more people, we have MILLIONS homeless, 30 trillion in debt, floods, fires, tornados, earthquakes, riots, gangs, drugs, corrupt government, violence, looting, feces, people being beaten in our streets, law enforcement murdered, and a host of OUR own problems!
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL

When those protests were going on in Cuba, one of the things I remember most was the presence of US flags. Why weren't they waving Cuban flags? Do they also want to become a state like many do for Puerto Rico? Maybe what they really are protesting about is that it is too hard to immigrate. They want to come here.

This is why is not the solution to our immigration problems. A Ted Cruz presidency IS our immigration problem. Funny, but he was right on when he protested letting Hong Kong be a preferred source of immigration when the PRC took over.

We need to wall off completely all, absolutely all, immigrant traffic from anywhere on our southern borders.
