Very few people, other than illegals, have a problem. Everyone files a tax return with a SSN and if it doesn't match, you find out quickly. This garbage about someone suddenly being surprised that their SSN doesn't match doesn't fly. Filing for credit or a bank account, etc., all kinds of ways you will find out a no-match. I would venture 99.5% of no-matchs are illegals.

How are they going to produce evidence this will harm anybody? All they are basing this on is assumptions of what COULD happen. If you actually have a SSN, it's easy to fix the problem. Ask anyone who has ever had their name changed because of marriage or got a replacement.

Why don't they just tell the truth and say we don't want to fire illegals or be penalized if we get caught. The lowlifes of the aclu are always there when something stinks and they see money, like flies to crap.

Just another example of a bunch of a-holes trying to prevent this country from enforcing its laws.

Is there some way to disconnect San Francisco from the US mainland and ship it somewhere---like China?

The United States goverment knows when these SSN's are fake. They know that so and so has been dead 20 years and one person can't be in several states at one time. The government is taking this tax money and keeping it. The government should be using this as a tool to track the person down and deport them. Why can't the government take control over this? They created the damn problem. If they see an SSN coming in more then once or that person is dead then go after the company, go after the person and the money you make would pay off of the employer would pay for the deportation 20 timesfold. The government holds the key. This is the problem. All the government has to say is we are checking double SSN's or deceased SSN's or anyone SSN under the age of 12. That would whip the employer right into shape. But oh no that would be just to easy.

Go to a local unemployment office and give them your SSnumber. It won't take them one hour to know if you are eligible to get any benefit or not. Why would DHS even give businesses 3 months to verify if an employee is using a fake number? ... and what does DHS plan to do with illegals who will be fired?

This case scares me. We know where Bush and Chertoff stand on the issue. They can just fail to put up a vigorous defense and let the plaintiffs have their way. I don't like this new feeling of suspicion toward my government, but it could be a set-up.

These Unions need to decide where they stand. They don't want to verify ss numbers because they want to protect their illegal workers. However, the teamsters are fighting Mexican trucks-which they should.

Are union membership numbers that important that they don't care if people are illegals? Don't union members realize that their wages are being held down and that more and more illegals are getting jobs that Americans should have?

I remember reading an article on here a while back about an illegal former gang member. He went to jail for his gang activities. Did we deport him? No- he is now in a union working for some sort of construction trade. He started out as an apprentice and in a couple of years would make like $30-$40 an hour. So Americans cannot get this job but illegal gang members can? Why do people in unions put up with this garbage? Have unions totally been taken over by illegals and anti-Americans?

I am going to see if I can find that article.

Oh, Nicole. You are so right!! Since I work in construction I see it all the time and I see that industry being turned into a dumping ground for ex-cons who are supposedly rehabbed. I don't want to be around those people. And now we have to contend with illegal alien criminals as well. There was so much cheating going on way before illegal immigration mushroomed into a crisis and now we are just throwing endless salt in the wound.

Many construction trades were once considerd highly honorable vocations. Some still are, where strict licensing by state authorities weeds out the incompetent workers. But some skilled crafts, like carpentry, have very little oversight, and so many creeps get into the business. The remarkable thing to me is that the public seems to tolerate this! Either they are easily snowed---or they truly hate people with conservative values.

This is all about money. The Unions can't get enough members among Americans to be willing to join and pay them dues. For one thing Americans have turned sour on Unions because of the corruption and lack of effectiveness. And also because many of them traditionally represented Industrial workers. Our industry in this country has diminished and with it their memberships. The Unions have only themselves to blame. They are just continuing their crooked dealings by courting illegal aliens. The AFL-CIO AND the ACLU need to be abolished! Neither of them care about Americans or American workers.
